Our goal at D’Alto Studio is to bring informative acting lessons to students at every skill level with material and technique that is age appropriate, challenging and rewarding. We work with children, teens and adults in theatrical productions every day and we understand what an actor needs to know as they approach work on the stage or in film. Our instructors employ many useful techniques to develop new skill sets and maximize potential, utilizing a student’s natural talent and learned abilities. Students will learn how to create multilayered characters and portray them in monologues and scenes on stage and in film. These important lessons not only further a student’s potential acting career, but also better prepare individuals for academic and professional success in every field. Skills learned will include speaking clearly with confidence, making and holding eye contact, using good posture, making presentations, memorizing material, working in groups, taking leadership and support roles, handling unexpected situations and challenges, and maximizing as well as capitalizing on one’s own personal talent and charisma. Students of every age and stage of acting development will be taught the value of personal discipline, practice, sacrifice and delayed gratification. Their reward will be a new level of self-confidence and the ability to focus and deliver on personal, academic and professional goals. Working in acting has very therapeutic benefits as well. Acting is an artistic pursuit, achieved alone and in groups of likeminded individuals, and acting students find coming to class something they very much look forward to.
